Renovation Status - ONGOING
as of March, 2025
Because of zoning requirements, we are required to add an additional outside entrance. This requires serious construction work to punch through the stone & cement foundation basement wall. We are lining up contractors and permit approvals to move forward with the next phase.
We have had serious setbacks due to covid and finding a contractor to do this renovation.
We had to remove the entire layout to accommodate the access required by the building code. We have disassembled the old layout and were able to remove the boiler giving us more floor space and the low-hanging pipes, giving us an unobstructed view. We now have an open area so we are able to design a completely new railroad!
We are currently working on designing our plans and will keep the SVRR a fictional HO sale railroad serving Eastern PA from Philadelphia. It will be set in the diesel steam transition era, time period with many of the old structures re-established on the new layout and many more new places to be designed and built.
